Sandhi Puja will be performed on October 19, 2026 from 7:26 AM to 8:14 AM. This is the most auspicious moment of Durga Puja, lasting 48 minutes at the juncture of Ashtami and Navami.
Sandhi Puja is the most powerful ritual of Durga Puja. It is performed during the last 24 minutes of Ashtami and the first 24 minutes of Navami. During this sacred juncture, 108 diyas are lit, and the chanting of mantras reaches its peak. It is believed that Maa Durga manifests as Chamunda during this time to destroy the demons Chanda and Munda.
Kumari Puja is the worship of a young girl as a living embodiment of Maa Durga. It is performed on Maha Navami (October 20, 2026). The ritual honors the divine feminine energy (Shakti) in its purest form. The girl represents the nine forms of Maa Durga (Nava Durga).
All puja timings and rituals are determined according to Benimadhab Sil's Full Panjika 1433, which is the most authentic and widely respected Bengali almanac (Panjika). Every auspicious muhurat has been calculated based on traditional Vedic principles.
The main rituals include:
• Bodhon, Amantran & Adhibas (Invocation of Maa Durga)
• Nabapatrika Snan (Bathing of nine plants representing the nine forms of the Goddess)
• Pushpanjali (Flower offering)
• Sandhi Puja (The juncture worship)
• Kumari Puja (Worship of a young girl)
• Sindoor Khela (Vermilion ceremony)
• Bisarjan (Immersion ceremony)
